T. M. P. Nedungadi, also known by his nom de plume Nadirshah, was an Indian playwright, theatre director, and film critic. Hailing from Kerala, Nadirshah worked in Bombay for most of his life and was the director of the journalism department at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.[1] In Bombay, he also organised the drama troupe "Purappadu" which performed plays in Malayalam.[2] He wrote film reviews in Chitrashala, a regular film review column in Mathrubhumi Illustrated Weekly during the fifties, sixties and seventies.[2] Nadirsha, along with Kozhikodan and Cynic, is said to have elevated film criticism into a serious genre of writing in Malayalam.[3][4] Nadirshah was married to Saraswathi Nedungadi (died 2020) and the couple had two daughters, Thamara Nedungadi and Lopamudra Nedungadi.[1]
