Kylie Lorena Cantrall[3] (born June 25, 2005[3][4]) is an American actress, singer, songwriter and YouTuber.[5]

Among her acting career, she played the lead role as Gabby Duran in the television series Gabby Duran & the Unsittables (2019–2021),[4] and a recurring role as Dani in the fourth season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (2023).[6] Cantrall will also play the lead role as Red in the upcoming Descendants spin-off film Descendants: The Rise of Red.[7] She also played a main voice role as Savannah in the animated film Ron's Gone Wrong.[8]

As singer, she has recorded several singles, with her debut album scheduled to be released in early 2024.[9]

Early life and career[edit]

Of Venezuelan descent,[10] and born in Sherman Oaks, California, Cantrall began broadcasting on YouTube at the age of 8 under the name "Hello Kylie".[4] She then moved on to acting where she became a regular guest actress in numerous television series.[4] She was cast in the lead role in the series Gabby Duran & the Unsittables, which aired on Disney Channel from 2019 to 2021;[11][12][13] she also performed the series' opening theme song.[14]

Cantrall has several singles under her belt like "No Reason," "That's What I'm Talkin' About" and "Feeling Some Kinda Way", which have amassed nearly 15 million views on YouTube.[4] She appeared on the R3hab and Jonas Blue song "Sad Boy", released on September 10, 2021, as a featured artist with Ava Max.[15]

In September 2022, it was announced during the D23 Expo that Cantrall would be part of the main cast of the fourth installment in the Descendants film series, originally in the working title of Descendants 4, later being officialy named Descendants: The Rise of Red, in the title role of Red, daughter of the Queen of Hearts.[16][17][7] In the same month, it was announced that she would become a recurring cast member in the fourth season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.[18]

In 2022, Cantrall started in TikTok a series of videos under the title "10 Minute Songs", focused on composing songs that include three words proposed by her fans in a period of 10 minutes, several of which were included on her first EP, 10 Minute Songs (Volume 1), released on December 2023.[19][20]

In August 2023, Cantrall became the ambassador of TruSkin cosmetics brand, being the brand's first ambassador.[1][2]

After recording several singles, her debut album will be released in 2024 through Artist Partner Group.[9]
