Lívio Campos (born Niterói October 14, 1956) is a Brazilian photographer and photography teacher.
Biography[edit]
Lívio is the third son of journalist and photographer Lívio Dedeco Campos and photographer Jacyra Hilda Campos, who dedicated their lives to photography. Born in Niterói in Brazil, he lived his childhood and adolescence in Macaé Brazil. At the age of 12, he was often awakened by his father, who was Expert witness, to do photojournalism. Also very early, he was taken by his mother to work in his parents' photo lab, an experience that helped him a lot in his career. After the premature death of his father, he adopted the name Lívio Campos to honor him, removing Junior from the name. Lívio Campos became one of the main photographic references in the Northern Fluminense Region in Rio de Janeiro.
Photographic career[edit]
In the 70s, he went to Rio de Janeiro to train and enrolled at SFF in Niterói in Rio de Janeiro, where has a portfolio number 290 signed by Jayme Moreira de Luna, founder of SFF. In 1975 he studied photography at the Brazilian Association of Photographic Art (ABAF), until after 8 years of photographing various musical shows, he published the first LP record cover of the singer Emílio Santiago in 1978. Working for the Phonographic Industry, he has been signing the photos of dozens of CD and DVD covers from MPB. He has a very busy life at the beginning of his career photographing concerts. He borrowed a Pentax camera with a friend in Niterói and went on to photograph the shows in Rio de Janeiro. After the shows, he had to return the camera and travel to Macaé 200 Km away, where the laboratory was located, to develop the films and make the enlarged copies in size 18x24 cm. The next day he needed to be early at the record company in Rio de Janeiro to show the copies in front of the other photographers, who only took contact copies of the negatives.
In 1992 and 1993 he was responsible for taking the photos of the covers of LP record Circuladô and Circuladô Vivo by the singer Caetano Veloso winners of the Sharp Brazilian Music Award[1]. Lívio has toured some municipalities giving lectures, seminars and workshops on photography, especially concert photography. He is Professor of several photography courses at the SFF and his collection includes photographs of the great names of national and international music.
Artists[edit]
Lívio has done works and photographic essays for various artists and bands on the brazilian and international scene, as well as concerts by MPB with Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Simone, Nana Caymmi, Elba Ramalho, Zeca Pagodinho, Milton Nascimento, and internationally Sting, Madonna, B.B. King, Rolling Stones among other artists and bands.
Once when starting a photo shoot in the studio of the SFF with a famous Brazilian musician, the musician started smoking inside the studio at the exact moment when the president of the society enters. Lívio then called the president and showed him who the person was to be photographed, when he then heard from the president: "It's Okay!".
Record Covers[edit]
During his career Lívio photographed several covers of LP record, CD's and DVD's. With the photo made for his first album cover, by the artist Emílio Santiago, he bought his first camera. A Nikkormat purchased from photographer Cesar Barreto.

Photography Courses[edit]
Lívio Campos has been a photography professor at SFF since 2014, where he taught classes to dozens of classes in the following courses[84]:
- Fundamental Photography Course;
- Nature Photography Course;
- Workshop - Learning to Handle Your DSLR Camera;
- Photography with smartphones;
- Portrait Creative Light Workshop.
Curiosities[edit]
At the time that followed his father, who set up a Macaé branch of the newspaper Ultima Hora, he photographed everything from birth to death and only refused a job to register an adultery case. For a time, Lívio Campos lived at journalist Livio Dedeco Campos street in the Cajueiros neighborhood in Macaé, a name given in honor of his father. When asked where he lived, he replied with irony: "I live on my street".
Photographic Collection[edit]
Although it still has an ample photographic collection, part of it was lost in two floods in Macaé. These accidents took around 50% of photos of shows, important artists and other images clicked by the photographer.
