Landon Newsom
Landon Elizabeth Newsom (Born March 23, 1985) is an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
Career[edit]
She was the lead vocalist for the musical group known as LANDON. Her band LANDON was originally signed to Epic Records[1] but later moved to an imprint label of Entertainment One Music where she released her first full length album One Woman Army.[2] Her album One Woman army was recorded, mixed and mastered by Bob Clearmountain.[3]
Soon after the breakup of her band she moved on to the industrial electro trio known as KillMatriarch was formed in 2010 by Landon and Ontronik Khachaturian (co/founder and drummer of System of a Down and Mt. Helium).[4] After KillMatriarch disbanded Landon Newsom began a solo music career where she became known as Matriarch or iMatriarch.[5] Her band KillMatriarch released the EP Order Through Chaos in 2010.[6]
She appeared as a guest vocalist on the song "The Lonely" by The Used from the album Vulnerable.[7] Her music has appeared on MTV show Real World.[8] Her music has also appeared on the Television series 90210.[9] Landon composed the Music for Sunday Billy Sunday. Landon was the lead actress in the film Mad Bad and composed & performed the music for the soundtrack with Collective Soul. As a solo artist Landon collaborated with William Control on an EP called Dark.
