Lazar Sakan (born March 16, 1985 in Zemun) is a creative manager at the advertising agency New Moment (New Moment New Ideas Company), one of the most awarded agencies in the Balkans whose name is tied with the prestigious Titanium Lion of Cannes. He has been leading the agency with his brother Žarko Sakan for years.

Personal life[edit]

He is a son of a marketeer Dragan Sakan – Saki, a pioneer on the advertising scene in the Balkans and a founder of the company New Moment (New Moment New Ideas Company), and Slobodanka Lazarević – Maca, a columnist in the magazine Politikin Zabavnik, who left her imprint in “Psihološke grickalice” (Psychological Nibbles), and who is a daughter of a Yugoslav Božo Lazarević. Both of his parents are psychologists by profession.

An adventurer by nature and a motorcyclist, he is among few from Serbia who has performed Thai boxing in Thailand itself in Muay Thai camp, where he has finally found natural balance of the spiritual and physical being, something that he has always been striving for.

Although he has travelled the world, lived and gained his education in Slovenia, Barcelona, Miami, London, it is only in Belgrade where he entirely feels at home.

He lives in his loft together with Mica.

Professional career[edit]

He has acted and stage performance since his early age. Between 1994 and 1996 he acted in the commercials for Robna kuća Beograd, Supa C, Game Boy, and also participated in the campaign “Lepše je sa kulturom” (Culture makes it fairer).

During one period of his life Lazar tried modeling and became one of the most wanted local models. In 2010 he returned to his acting career showing in the role of a skinhead in the movie “Šišanje” (Skinning) directed by Stevan Filipović that aroused numerous controversies.

Liking rock’n’roll in 2009 he started working as a host of RTS music show Jelen Top 10 that promotes contemporary domestic pop and rock scene as well as young music bands both from Serbia and the region.

In 2012 he participated in the video production project for the track “Kafane i rokenrol” by a cult band Kanda, Kodža i Nebojša for which he hired Boris Miljković, the author of a number of television shows, movies and videos whose name is inseparably linked to the history of Yugoslav New Wave.

In 2013 he produced a particular road movie or r'n'r movie for the track “Sve je stalo (u r'n'r)” by Kanda, Kodža i Nebojša, in which the central place takes “a gem of the Slovenian coast” – Piran, a city in which a unique monument dedicated to Dragan Sakan is positioned. On that occasion he gathered a team of creative young people – Raško Miljković, Saša Štih and Darja Pačevski, his “best friend” with whom he organized the exhibition known by the name “4 Cats” (Cuatro gatos) in the gallery New Moment the same year. The exhibition consisted of the original graphics created by the most significant Spanish artists of a worldwide prominence – Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Antoni Tàpies and Joan Miró. More than twenty thousand visitors saw the exhibition which placed it among the most important cultural events of the year.

As another gift to rock'n'roll, Lazar organized an individual exhibition of graphics by Branislav Babić Kebra, a founder and a frontman of the cult alternative rock band Obojeni program from Novi Sad. This exhibition was also presented in New Moment Gallery.
