Leader Tech, Inc. is a United States–based manufacturer of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) shielding products, headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The company supplies board-level shielding, conductive gaskets, microwave absorbers and related components for applications in aerospace, defense, telecommunications, medical devices and industrial electronics.[1][2]

History

Leader Tech was founded in 1984 in Tampa, Florida.[3] In June 1999 the company was acquired by HEICO Corporation and became part of HEICO’s Electronic Technologies Group.[4][5]

Products and technology

Leader Tech’s board-level shielding portfolio includes standard and modified two-piece shields, surface-mount shields and the proprietary Slot-Lok line, which applies standardized manufacturing methods to custom geometries.[6] Trade publications have highlighted the company’s short lead times and prototyping capability for circuit board shields.[7][8] The company also offers conductive elastomer and fabric-over-foam gaskets, beryllium-copper fingerstock, RF absorber materials and related thermal solutions for enclosure-level EMI control.[9]

Patents

Leader Tech and its inventors have been granted patents relating to PCB shielding enclosures and assemblies. Examples include US 6194655 B1 (2001) covering a circuit board component shielding enclosure and assembly with interfitting top and bottom covers.[10]

Recognition

In 2009, Interference Technology reported on the expansion of Leader Tech’s Global EMI Shielding Technology Center in Tampa, noting its additional production capacity and technical staffing to support customer demand.[11] In 2022, Aerospace & Defense Review (via U.S. Tech Online) named Leader Tech a Top Manufacturing Solution Provider for its EMI/RFI shielding solutions in military and aerospace applications.[12]

Headquarters

Leader Tech’s headquarters and Global EMI Shielding Technology Center are located in Tampa, Florida.[13][14]
