Leak Lyda (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.; born July 3, 1983) is a Cambodian film director and LD Picture's CEO.[1] Best known for his feature The Clock: Spirits Awakening, Rent Boy (2023 film) and The Night Curse of Reatrei.[2][3][4]
Background
Hailing from Kampong Thom province, Leak Lyda is a self-taught film producer and director that has been in the entertainment industry for more than a decade, producing films spanning the horror, romance and comedy genres.[5][6]

In 2019, Lyda’s horror film, ‘The Clock Spirits Awakening’ achieved great results at the Cambodia National Film Festival by winning multiple awards including The Best Film of The Year 2019, The Best Director of Year 2019, The Best Film Editor of Year 2019, The Best Sound Editor of the Year 2019, The Best Actress and Actor of the Year 2019. The film also received awards at the Horror Bowl Movie Award, India for The Best Film of the Year 2019, The Best Director of the Year 2019 Mr. Lyda Leak, The Best Actor of the Year 2019, Mr. Piseth Sorn. ‘The Clock Spirits Awakening’ was also distributed and shown in multiple territories in Asia. Leak Lyda Producer of LD Pictures received an award for The Clock: Spirits Awakening in 2020 at The 11th Cambodia International Film Festival.[12][13][14]
