Lee Jin-e (Hangul์ด์ง„์ด; born April 14, 2004), better known mononymously as JinE (์ง„์ด), is a South Korean singer, and dancer. Jin-e made her debut with the digital single "It Because Raining" on August 5, 2021. She is also known for being a participant on the SBS survival competition show Universe Ticket.[citation needed]

Personal Life[edit]

Lee Jin-E was born on April 4, 2004, in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. She has a younger brother.[1][better source needed] She attended Sunhwa Arts School in the department of Vocal Music Department, where she was operatically trained to sing in opera. In her childhood, she also learned how to play the piano and dance, other than majoring in Vocal Music, she is a self-taught singer.[1][2][better source needed][3][better source needed]

2020โ€“2022: Career beginnings, Debut with It Because Raining[edit]

In 2020, Lee began her career on TikTok, she uploaded a TikTok of her singing as a joke, which gained attention and she gained a following and she continued to create more singing videos on the platform.[1] One of her singing covers garnered over 8 million views which kicked off her career. Later, Lee signed an artist contract with TNK Entertainment, and made her official debut in August 2021.[4][5]

2023โ€“present: Universe Ticket[edit]

On April 21, 2023, JinE was announced to become a character in the AI Metaverse audition app 'AIDOLTV'. Users can play as JinE's metaverse character and create and upload videos of the character singing and dancing.[6]

On July 17, 2023, JinE revealed to be a contestant on the SBS survival competition show, Universe Ticket.[7][better source needed]

Endorsements[edit]

In 2020, JinE collaborated with Marpple, where she designed and produced her own phone cases and PopSockets line called "Princess".[1]
