The Legacy of Brutality, often shortened as LoB, is a professional wrestling stable, currently performing in the American professional wrestling promotion, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). Led by Josh Ashcraft, the stable also consists of Jay Bradley, Cash Flo, Dapper Dan, Big Zo, Hy-Zaya and Steve Michaels.[11]

History[edit]

Ohio Valley Wrestling (2016–present)[edit]

The Legacy Of Brutality is best known for their tenure with the professional wrestling promotion, Ohio Valley Wrestling. Originally, the stable consisted only in the tag team of Big Zo and Hy-Zaya, led and managed by Josh Ashcraft, who presented them at OVW TV #883 on July 20, 2016 where they competed in a losing effort to JXT and Trevor Steele.[12] Big Zo and Hy-Zaya began their first OVW Southern Tag Team Championship reign in this tag team form on September 7, 2016 at OVW TV #890 after defeating Adam Revolver and The Mexicutioner.[13] They continued feuding with other teams such as King's Ransom (Leonis Khan and Maximus Khan) for the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship, title which Big Zo, Hy-Zaya, Jay Bradley and Cash Flo would often win as freebirds.[14]

They are also known for working with Corey Storm and Dimes, against whom they had another feud for the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship which culminated at OVW TV #1058 on November 19, 2019 with the loss of Big Zo and Jay Bradley who represented the stable.[15] At OVW Nightmare Rumble 2019 from January 5, Big Zo, Cash Flo and Dapper Dan competed in a 30-man rumble match and fought against other superstars such as the winner Tony Gunn, Amon and Tyler Matrix.[16] On the February 1, 2020 episode of OVW Saturday Night Special, Big Zo and Hy-Zaya teamed up to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship for the second time as a team by defeating Corey Storm and Dimes and started a reign of 280 days which was the longest until their loss.[17]

The stable fights in different combinations of the members. On February 6, 2021 at OVW Tough Love 2021, Steve Michaels, Big Zo and Cash Flo teamed up to fight Jessie Godderz, Omar Amir and Tony Gunn in a six-man tag team match.[18] On the January 9, 2021 OVW Nightmare Rumble, Hy-Zaya defeated William Lutz in a 7-way scramble match, also involving Ace Austin, A.J. Daniels, J.C. Addams, Rohit Raju, and Star Rider to win the OVW Rush Division Championship.[19] He eventually won it for the second time after a short period, at OVW TV #1126 on March 9, 2021 defeating William Lutz again in a five-way match also involving Gustavo, Star Rider and Koda Jacobs.[20] On May 6, 2021 at OVW TV #1134, Ca$h Flo won the OVW Heavyweight Championship by defeating Omar Amir.[21]

Independent circuit (2017–present)[edit]

Various members of the unit are known for their sporadic appearances in other promotions. The first match outside of OVW was at IWA Mid-South Heartbreak: Part Deux, an event promoted bt IWA Mid-South on February 16, 2017, where Hy-Zaya represented the unit as he teamed up with Shane Mercer, competing in a four-way tag team match also involving OI4K (Dave Crist and Jake Crist), Kongo Kong and Shigehiro Irie, and Mance Warner and Ray Waddell.[22] Hy-Zaya won the RPW Tag Team Championship by teaming up with his NVD tag team partner Shane Mercer at a house show hosted by Resistance Pro Wrestling in 2017. Even if one half of the team, Mercer was not recognized as a part of the stable.[23] During the short-term relationship between OVW and Impact Wrestling, several members of the unit competed against superstars from Impact. On February 21, 2020, at Impact Wrestling/OVW Outbreak, Jay Bradley unsuccessfully challenged Moose.[24] One night later, at Impact Sacrifice 2020, Bradley competed in another match, this time against Willie Mack, again unsuccessfully.[25]
