Leon Emirali (born 4 January 1991) is a British public relations adviser, entrepreneur and columnist.[1] Emirali was a consultant to the political team of former Prime Minister, Theresa May[2][3] and served as an aide to the current Health Secretary, Steve Barclay.[4]

Early life and education[edit]

Emirali was Head Boy at his school.[5] He studied at Coventry University and the Zhejiang University of Media and Communication in China.[6] At university, Emirali founded and sold a digital media business.[7]

In 2015, Emirali co-founded a digital marketing agency and was named in PR Week's '30 Under 30' two years later. [5][7] In 2019, he sold his shareholding in the business.[4]

In 2022, Emirali founded a reputation management company.[4] Emirali is also an adviser to a political lobbying firm and the advertising agency M&C Saatchi.[8][9]

Politics[edit]

Emirali was an external media consultant to Theresa May's Downing Street staff when she was Prime Minister.[3]

In 2019, Emirali was appointed as an aide to British Cabinet minister, Steve Barclay, during his time as Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union. Emirali also advised Barclay when he was appointed Chief Secretary to the Treasury following a government reshuffle.[10]

Emirali has stood as a candidate in local elections twice, but was not elected on either occasion.[11][12]

Recognition[edit]

In 2016, Emirali was included in PR Week's '30 under 30'.[7] In 2023, he was named as a "recommended reputation manager" by Spear's Magazine.[1]
