LetsBab is the first peer-to-peer marketplace platform, where you can earn cash and donate to charity by making recommendations to your friends and family. LetsBab is the digitalisation of word of mouth and has a broad cross section of global brands and charity partners.

History[edit]

LetsBab was founded by Bonnie Takhar in 2018. It is headquartered in London.

Takhar, a seasoned fashion executive, has held a number of high ranking positions, including Donna Karan, Earl Jean,[1] Jimmy Choo, Halston and was most recently CEO of Charlotte Olympia[2]. In 2009, whilst at home on maternity leave, Takhar came up with the idea of launching a platform for people to make and receive recommendations to their trusted friends and family. Looking for a means to channel her energy and natural skillset, and well aware of the power of the personal recommendation, the origins of LetsBab were born. The sentiment of ‘if I had a dollar for every time I recommend this….” was something she had heard time and time again, but which had never been realised. She saw a clear opportunity to enable others, like herself, to be empowered and feel connected, whilst doing something they naturally already did – sharing ideas and recommendations, which is based on a shared economy.

LetsBab is funded by the founder’s own contribution and subsequent private funding.

Trade Mark[edit]

The idea of LetsBab was born in 2009 and the registration and realisation of the online services took place in 2018.. Across this period, at a professional level, Takhar also made certain observations of the disruption across distribution channels and marketing tools.

Between 2012 – 2017, global consumer markets have witnessed the rise and the power of influence(r), which is in itself going through shift towards an authentic recommendation i.e. peer-to-peer.

Marketing[edit]

LetsBab is anchored around being able to shop, recommend, earn and donate. On entering the App[3][4] (for iOS, Android OS) users are greeted with a home screen that enables them to select their favourites brands to shop. On entering each ‘brand’ they are taken to the brands homepage within the app, where they can either add to basket and purchase, or find products to recommend to their friends and family. Should their friend purchase on their recommendation, the User earns a direct cash commission from the brand that they can choose to keep or donate to charity.

LetsBab sponsor Creative Collaboration Award at upcoming Walpole (a body in the UK) awards[5].
