Lia Cataldo (born 11 February 2001) is an English-Italian footballer who plays for Bristol City W.F.C. in the FA Women's Championship.[3] A versatile defender, she can operate as either a wing-back or centre back. She began her career as a youth player at Arsenal W.F.C. before moving on to play for Millwall (now London City Lionesses) and Leicester City W.F.C..
Club career
After moving to Millwall in the summer of 2018, Cataldo scored her first career goal in a London derby against London Bees on September 19, 2018. She scored the equaliser in what would eventually end in a 2–1 defeat for her team.[4]
In summer 2019, she moved on from London City Lionesses and signed a two-year contract with Leicester City W.F.C..[1] This proved to be a successful spell which culminated in the Foxes winning the FA Women's Championship in the 2020–21 season. [5]
Upon being released by Leicester, she signed with Bristol City W.F.C. in the summer of 2021, where she still plays now.[6] In 2023, Cataldo signed for Crystal Palace.[7]
International career
Cataldo has represented England at age group level, playing at various tournaments throughout the age groups.[8] She is also eligible to play for Italy women's national football team.
