Lia van Bekhoven (Oosterhout, April 5, 1953) is a Dutch journalist, author, and correspondent for radio and television. She hase lived in London since 1976, together with her British husband. Bekhoven and her husband have two children.
Biography[edit]
Van Bekhoven grew up in Oosterhout, North Brabant. In 1975, she finished her studies at the School for Journalism in Utrecht.
After finishing her studies, she moved to the United Kingdom, where she settled in the capital. From there, she corresponds with various foreign media companies. Her first clients were the Ikon, and Vrij Nederland. Up until 2007 she worked for the NOS (radio), and before that she worked for the GPD-newspapers. Her current regular clients include the BNR Nieuwsradio, Nieuwsuur, the VRT (both radio and television), and Elsevier.
Aside from her career as a reporter for both radio and television, van Bekhoven also contributed to the weekly paper Libelle, and to the Arabian news channel Al Jazeera.
In 2007, Lia van Bekhoven was awarded with the Herman wekker Award.
