Danielle Batist

Danielle Batist is a UK-based freelance journalist.[1] She is founder of the website Journopreneur[2] and co-founder of the Constructive Journalism Project.[3]

Journalism[edit]

Danielle has contributed to notable publications and media outlets such as Al Jazeera,[4] The Guardian,[5] the BBC[6] and The Big Issue.[7] In 2014, she interviewed the Dalai Lama for the International Network of Street Papers.[8]

In April 2015, she will speak on the topic of 'good news' at the annual International Journalism Festival in Perugia, Italy.[3]

Education[edit]

Originally from the Netherlands, Danielle graduated from the Utrecht School of Journalism with a BA in newspaper reporting.[1] She later earned an MA in journalism, media and globalisation as part of the Erasmus Mundus programme, studying at Aarhus University in Denmark and Swansea University in Wales.[9] Her postgraduate dissertation on a Zimbabwean exile radio station earned her a distinction[9] and was published by the Journal of African Media Studies.[10]
