Liliana Saumet, better known as Li Saumet is the lead-singer for the popular Colombian band Bomba Estéreo.

Early life and education[edit]

Saumet was born in the city of Santa Marta to parents from France and Levante. After living several years in Barranquilla, she moved to Bogotá to start studying Advertising at the Politécnico Grancolombiano.

Adult life[edit]

In Bogotá, Saumet met fellow musician Simon Mejia. After having composed material together, they formed the band Bomba Estereo, bring together diverse genres from rap to alternative rock, reggae and Cumbia. In 2006, they published their first album Vol. 1.

In 2008, their album Estalla/Blow up was released, and in 2012 they released "Elegancia Tropical"[1] before releasing "Amanecer" in 2015. The same year, Will Smith recorded "Fiesta" together with the band. Together with Bomba Estereo, Saumat has appeared at festivals and international events such as Vive Latino (Mexico), Roskilde Festival, South by Southwest, Glastonbury Festival, Sonar (Spain) and Transmusicales. Their appearance on KEXP-FM has over 55 million views on Youtube. In 2021, Saumet released, again together with Bomba Estereo, the album Deja.[2] This album is combined with a tour of Europe in late 2022[3].

Personal Life[edit]

Saumet got married on the 29th of August 2015 in Santa Marta with a Canadian businessman. They have one child. The song "Somos Dos" used this relation as it's inspiration [4].
