Cities with large Indian-American populations are large cities or municipalities with a critical mass of at least 1% of the total urban population, and medium-sized or small cities with a critical mass of at least 10% of the total population, based upon information from the year specified. New York City boroughs[edit]
As the city proper with the nation's largest Asian Indian population by a wide margin, with an estimated 207,196 individuals as of the 2012 American Community Survey,[5] and as the primary destination for new Indian immigrants,[6] New York City is subdivided into official municipal boroughs, which themselves are home to significant Asian Indian and other South Asian populations. Note that this list does not include the large populations of Pakistani Americans, Bangladeshi Americans, Sri Lankan Americans, Indo-Caribbean Americans, and others of South Asian origin who make their home in New York City.
