Little Love Organisation

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Little Love is a Non-Governmental Organisation that aims to help underprivileged communities in accomplishing their goals through various projects and activities.

About

Little Love was founded by Narayan Pharkya and Rohit Pendharkar on 1 January 2018. Starting as a small group of high school students in Indore, it is now growing in other cities like Bombay and Pune. It began by helping underprivileged children get food and a better life, and it has expanded to different campaigns to help improve their overall futures. Over 80 volunteers actively help to make this goal a reality. It has its main headquarters in Indore.

Projects

Shiksham - Shiksha me Shaksham[1]

In India, many children are deprived of quality basic elementary education. (Redacted)[2] So, keeping in mind how vital education is to one’s life, we started SHIKSHAM, a combination of two Hindi words: ‘Shiksha’ and ‘Shaksham’. Together, it means "capable through education". Education greatly develops people's minds and helps remove societal inequalities. It enables one to become a good learner and understand all aspects of life. It provides the ability to understand human rights, social rights, duties, and responsibilities towards the country.

Animalia - The Wildlife Companion[3]

Kagaz Kari - Ek Pahal Prakruti Ki Aur[5]

A step towards promoting paper bags. Kagaz Kari was started with a vision to stop the pollution caused by plastic bags. We all know how dependent we were on plastic bags due to their compact nature and easy availability, but this self-centered decision significantly harmed our environment. Many species became extinct or are on the verge of extinction. Seeing these drastic effects, we at Little Love sought a way to promote paper bags, which are comparatively less harmful and more recyclable.

Our initiative was planned in two phases:

  • Firstly, our volunteers collected old newspapers from neighbourhoods all over the city.
  • Secondly, they made paper bags from the newspapers and sold them at minimal prices. The funds collected were used to help slum children.

Events

Thought Shower

An open mic night for artists to perform and let people enjoy a night and take a break from stressful life. Comedians, singers, poets, musicians, and skits were performed in a local cafe – Nirvana - The Cafe. With over 50 attendees, everyone was relaxed and happy.[6][7]
