LocalVox Media is a New York, New York based company that focus on leveraging online marketing to drive in-store sales[10] for franchises, large-multi-location businesses and SMBs. Since its inception in 2010 by David Pachter (CEO) and Trevor Sumner (President) it has grown to a company of 50 employees[11] serving North America.[12] In 2013, LocalVox was named among the top ten startups to pay attention to in New York City[13] by the Huffington Post as well as one of the top 15 marketing software[14] by Forbes.

History[edit]

Before LocalVox Media came to fruition, the company was called NearSay and was strictly a newswire in Manhattan for local businesses to get their presence and events known in the local online community.[15] According to the LocalVox pricing page, NearSay still exists and is a free service for all LocalVox clients.[16] In late 2011, LocalVox Media, which was the original corporate name, became the parent of NearSay, allowing clients to seamlessly publish content on a wide range of local sites and marketing channels.[17]

In 2012, LocalVox was named one of the six fastest growing tech companies by Forbes. Later in 2012, LocalVox acquired Postling which allowed LocalVox to integrate their "Social Inbox" into their publishing dashboard.[18]

LocalVox is a privately held company and has secured $8.65 million in funding to date from Talus Holdings, Alta Group, Evercel and several angels.[19]

LocalVox's LocalCast products includes 3 main modules: LocalCast, SearchCast, and LocalConnect. LocalCast- The most basic of the products offered at LocalVox, It gives access to the integrated dashboard as well as a company listing on NearSay.[20] SearchCast- SearchCast is a local SEO product that includes directory optimizations, Google+ verification, and one page of on-page SEO optimizations on the company's website.[21] LocalCast- Allows businesses to geo target customers via their mobile device through LocalVox’s extensive app network.[22] Social Reputation Management- Full-service social media management that includes content creation as well as keeping an active dialogue with customers' clients.[23] Website SEO- Website strategy for search engine optimization, this service covers includes on-page, technical, and link building SEO.[24]
