Benny Luo is an American internet marketer, journalist, and entrepreneur who founded NewMediaRockstars[1] and NextShark.
Career[edit]
Luo began his career in internet marketing. In 2011, he was amongst the top three finalist in Charlie Sheen's social media intern campaign.[2]
Sometime at the end of 2011, Luo along with Melly Lee founded NewMediaRockstars,[1] an online publication covering the online video space. On October 2013, NewMediaRockstars was acquired by former Maker Studios CEO and co-founder Danny Zappin for an undisclosed sum.[3][4]
Shortly after, Luo launched NextShark on August 2013, an online publication focusing on business and entrepreneurship for millennials.[3]
Influence[edit]
In 2013, SocialTimes named Luo one of the "Top 10 Web Video Leaders You Should Be Following on Twitter".[5]
Luo is a frequent panelist on the topics of entrepreneurship and internet marketing, speaking alongside Tim Ferriss, iJustine, Ryan Holiday, Brendan Gahan and others.[6]
