Loco is an Indian game live streaming platform that focuses on video game live streaming, mobile game live streaming, and broadcast of esports tournaments.[1][2] It is headquartered in Mumbai, India.[3] According to google play store Loco currently have more than 10 million downloads,[4] making it one of the leading game streaming apps in India.[5][6] In October 2018, Loco was made available in six languages, including Hindi, English, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, and Tamil.[7]

Launched in January 2018, Loco started off as a live trivia game show app. The origins of the app lie in an app called Showtime.[8][9][10] The app was acquired by Indian digital entertainment company, Pocket Aces, and launched as Loco.[8][11]
In 2019, India witnessed a significant rise in users of battle royale games in 2019.[12][13] The large inflection point for gaming and transformed the Loco app into a live streaming and esports broadcasting app.[14]
In early 2020, Loco launched its game streaming app.[15] It has communities across a wide range of mobile games, including BGMI, Free Fire and Call of Duty Mobile.[14] Esports teams that stream on the platform include Revenant Esports, Global Esports,[16] SkyLightz Gaming, TSG, etc.
In 2021, Loco was spun off from Pocket Aces and became an independent company led by founders, Anirudh Pandita and Ashwin Suresh.[17]
Funding[edit]
In June 2021 this video game streaming platform raised more than $9 million in funding. The funding was led by the distributor of PUBG in India, Krafton, and Hiro Capital.[18][19] On 10th March 2022, Bloomberg reported that Loco raised $42 million (Rs 330 crore). This funding was led by Hashed and other investment partners.[20]
Tournaments streamed[edit]
In April 2022, Loco along with NODWIN Gaming, A esports Company, Hosted All Star Invitation -BGMI Tournament, and Asphats Teams Play.[21] They also, broadcasted a show, NBA 2k League in India.[22][23]
Loco is also the broadcast partner for Esports Premier League 2022.[24]
