Lokesh Kumar (born 29 June 1989) is an Indian film director, writer and producer.[1][2] He made an award winning Tamil feature film called My Son is Gay. He also won the 'Best Debut Director' award for his film My Son is Gay in 8th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2018, held at Delhi.[3][4][5]

Early life and career

He was born on 29 June 1989 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He did his schooling in Kalashetra matriculation school & then pursued diploma in mechanical engineering in S.A Polytechnic college. He was working in BPO industry for few years though he always had a great passion for cinema.[6] Inspired by many film festivals & social issues in the society, he started making his own short films which allowed him to experiment, learn the craft & later he turned into a full time independent filmmaker.[7][8]
