Bandi Saroj Kumar is an Indian filmmaker who has worked predominantly in Tamil and Telugu movies. His notable works include Asthamanam, Porkkalam, and Suryasthamayam. His last theatrical release was Suryasthamayam in 2021.
Career[edit]
Bandi Saroj Kumar completed his studies in Hyderabad and moved to Chennai to pursue film-making. He debuted with the film Porkkalam starring Kishore in 2010. He followed this with the experimental thriller Asthamanam, shot entirely on a digital camera, making it one of the earliest digitally shot feature films in India. After an eight-year hiatus, he returned with the action drama Suryasthamayam in Telugu, starring himself and Praveen Reddy. Saroj Kumar handled multiple roles in Suryasthamayam, including acting, direction, writing, cinematography, and music. He also creates YouTube short films addressing social issues.
