Los Angeles Diaper Drive

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Los Angeles Diaper Drive is non-profit organization founded in 2005 by Caroline Kunitz and Melissa Ratcliff.[1] The charity was created to provide diapers to low-income families in the Los Angeles area with an emphasis on fostering safe and healthy environments through education. The all-volunteer charity is supported 100% by donations. The diapers are distributed through Los Angeles based community organizations that work with low income families. These organizations often use the diapers as incentive to take important life skills classes aimed at improving lives and promoting safe and healthy families. The classes range from GED prep classes to basic parenting skills.

In May 2010, CVS Pharmacy made a donation of over 600,000 diapers to Los Angeles Diaper Drive. Many of the diapers were distributed with the help of actress Julie Bowen of Modern Family. [2] [3]

In October 2010, Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo assisted the LA Diaper Drive by distributing diapers that were donated by Huggies.[4]
