Sophia (Born September 23, 2004), known online as LtCorbis or soph, is an American YouTube personality, comedian, and musician. She may be most famous for her quick rise to fame, going from less than a thousand subscribers to a hundred thousand in about three days. This was primarily due to a video Pyrocynical made on her. [1]

Career

Sophia made YouTube videos where she would talk about a given subject over her playing video games. She gained a small following for making this content, but gained tens of thousands of subscribers when Pyrocynical made a video showcasing her. She took advantage of her newfound fame by releasing several videos afterwards. At some point she just started to talk directly to the camera. Sophia also makes music and releases songs on her bandcamp page. Sophia had a two-month period of inactivity before changing her channel name from LtCorbis to soph.

Controversies

Sophia has been known to have an edgy style of comedy, which has led to some controversy. Russian YouTuber NFKRZ posted screenshots of Sophia's Discord where she made several Islamophobic remarks, including "Kill all Muslims. Kill them all."[2] Sophia argues this was "a hyperbole" and "an exaggeration".[3]

In May 2019, local news station KRON4 reported that Sophia had been subjected to two separate police investigations due to the content she uploaded to her YouTube channel. This content included threats that she made towards YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki.[4] YouTube banned her from uploading videos for some time afterwards.
