MTD Capital Berhad (also known as the MTD Group or AlloyMtd) is a multinational infrastructure conglomerate based in Malaysia. The company operates across industrial sectors, including civil engineering, highway construction, real estate property development, manufacturing, and electronic mobility solutions.
History
The company was formally incorporated on January 25, 1993. The group achieved a public listing on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in 1998. Following a major corporate restructuring and consolidation program, the corporation was taken private by its major shareholders in 2011.[1] The entity subsequent merged its primary corporate management teams with its sister enterprise, Alloy Consolidated Sdn. Bhd.[2]
Projects
The construction division of the firm possesses technical experience in handling civil works, mountainous highways, and geotechnical solutions.[3]
Domestically, the group acted as the principal engineering contractor for the development of the mountain-pass highway layouts of the Kuala Lumpur–Karak Expressway and Phase 1 of the East Coast Expressway.[3] The firm also secured civil works contracts within the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) network, specifically managing the construction of elevated viaduct guideways for Package V7 and Package V208.[3]
The company executed the structural development of the Jamarat Bridge in Mina, Saudi Arabia.[3] In the United Kingdom, its property development division spearheaded the high-end One Crown Place mixed-use real estate development in London.[4][5] Additionally, the group built Phase 1A of the National Government Administrative Center located in New Clark City, Philippines.[3]
Rehabilitation and development work on the 36-kilometer segment of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) from Muntinlupa to Laguna was carried out by the company.[3]

Historical divestments
The company previously built, financed, and operated a large-scale international tollway concession portfolio before initiating a multi-year strategic divestment program to reallocate its corporate capital.[4]
In 2006, the group entered the Philippine tollway market by securing a controlling stake in the South Luzon Tollway Corporation via its investment vehicle, MTD Manila Expressway Corporation.[7] The company funded and executed a 12 billion Philippine peso expansion project.[8] This project covered the rehabilitation of the 1.2-kilometer Alabang Viaduct, the widening of the road from Alabang to Calamba, and the building of a 7.6-kilometer highway extension to Santo Tomas, Batangas.[9] The group later divested its equity shares in the South Luzon Tollway Corporation to the Philippine conglomerate San Miguel Corporation.[10]
On 7 April 2011, the group participated in a structural reorganization of its domestic toll holdings by transferring its highway concessions from internal units MTD Prime Sdn. Bhd. and Metramac Corporation Sdn. Bhd. into a newly established toll management entity named ANIH Berhad.[11] Through this setup, ANIH Berhad managed the long-term concessions for the Kuala Lumpur–Karak Expressway and the East Coast Expressway Phase 1.[11] In mid-2024, the concession holding company was spun off and sold to AFA Infrastructure and Development, leading to the re-branding of the highway operator as AFA PRIME Berhad.[11]
