History[edit]
The construction plan of Malacca Batik House was unveiled by Malacca Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam in January 2008.[5] The batik house was then opened in May 2009 and was officiated on 11 June 2009 by him.[6][7]

The Malacca Batik House is housed in a two-story building shaped like a traditional Malay house with a total floor area of 1,700 m2 in a 0.6 hectares area.[3][5] It consists of wooden gabled roof and bricked stairs leading to the main entrance. It has rooms for several different techniques of batik painting and making.
