Malkiel Peretz (Hebrew: מלכיאל פרץ; born 9 June 1943) is an Israeli chess FIDE master (FM) (1996)[1] and International Arbiter (IA, 1994), Israeli Chess Championship medalist (1967).
Biography[edit]
Peretz was born in Haifa[1] and played in multiple Israeli Chess Championships, with his best result being second place in 1967.[2] Also he was participant of a number of strong international tournaments held in Israel: Tel Aviv (1966),[3] Netanya (1969),[4] Netanya (1971),[5] Netanya (1973).[6] In 1969, he finished 3rd in the FIDE World Chess Championship West Asian Zonal tournament in Singapore.[7]
Peretz played for Israel in two Chess Olympiads:[8]
- In 1968, at second reserve board in the 18th Chess Olympiad in Lugano (+5, =4, −2),
- In 1970, at third board in the 19th Chess Olympiad in Siegen (+4, =7, −3).
Peretz played for Israel in the European Team Chess Championship preliminaries:[9]
- In 1977, at eighth board in the 6th European Team Chess Championship preliminaries (+0, =2, −0).
