Mark Wayne Hobart (born July 3, 1957 in New Haven, Connecticut) is an American model and actor in Japan, portraying Western characters in print, web, and TV commercials and shows. His first exposure to movies and acting was in 1978, while in Japan, as an extra (U.S. Marine Sentry) in The Bushido Blade (not credited) starring Richard Boone and Toshiro Mifune. The film was released in 1981 to lackluster reviews.
His first main role was as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in a Canon TV web commercial (2000), and then starred as the lead surgeon in a popular and funny Staff Services Japan TV commercial [1] (2001).
In July 2015, he auditioned and was selected to portray Sir Thomas Lipton [2] for Lipton Tea, Japan. He traveled to India for two weeks of filming. The shooting locations were in very challenging and demanding terrain in and around New Delhi, and Darjeeling Tea Estates. [3].

Private life
A native of New Haven, Connecticut, who served in the U.S. Navy. He earned his BA in Business (1988) from Chapman University, Orange, CA, and a graduate degree in Human Relations (2000) from the University of Oklahoma.
