Marla Dorrel
Marla Dorrel (born October 24, 1951) is a former member of the town council of Cary, North Carolina.[1][2]
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Dorrel has lived in Cary since 1989. She holds a bachelor's degree in education and attended Jefferson Community College, Southwest Missouri State University, the University of Missouri and graduated from Florida International University. A former teacher and government relations executive, Dorrel served on the Cary Town Council from 1999 through 2007, representing Cary's District D. Dorrel is married and has one stepson. Dorrel is a past president of the Republican Women of Cary.[citation needed] In 2007, Dorrel received Capital Area Preservation's Anthemion Award for Historic Preservation leadership and advocacy.[citation needed]
