Marques Monroe (born March 2, 1996), is a British rapper and songwriter.[1] He has released three solo singles: If Your Bitch Only Knew in 2017, followed by Silly Love Song and Infidelity (Your Neighbours Were Screaming) while working on his first full studio EP.

Career

2017–present: If Your Bitch Only Knew, Silly Love Song and Infidelity (Your Neighbours Were Screaming)

In 2017, Marques released his debut solo single If Your Bitch Only Knew, which sampled the beat from an Aaliyah song of a similar name If Your Girl Only Knew. During this time he signed a distribution and funding deal privately through Kobalt Music Group, AWAL and Kobalt Label Services. Marques then began to focus on lyricism and songwriting, re-sat his English lessons and started turning poetry into rap. He released two follow-up singles, "Silly Love Song" and "Infidelity (Your Neighbours Were Screaming)". Marques also wrote and recorded an unreleased song titled "Xanax Nation (Lil' Peep Tribute)" and released the album art on one of his social media accounts[2]. He is currently planning the release of his debut studio E.P Homo Hip-Hop along with feature verses from undisclosed artists.

Artistry

Marques is openly homosexual and his work so far has focused on gay and bisexual urban themes and content, and his lyrics have been played on BBC Radio, a UK radio station. His second single was also included in a LGBTQ Pride special edition[3] of Tom Robinson's BBC Music Introducing Mixtape[4] after being discovered and played on BBC Radio 1 in Nottinghamshire by Dean Jackson on his radio programme BBC Music Introducing East Midlands, followed by radio play across the East Midlands[5]. His music comprises the genres Hip Hop, Rap, Jazz, Alternative, R&B and homo hop.
