Marukome USA, Inc.

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Marukome USA, Inc. is the American subsidiary of Marukome Co., LTD, a 155-year-old producer of Japanese miso and miso products which are distributed worldwide. Its headquarters are located in the city of Nagano. Marukome accounts for about 13% of the amount of miso produced in Japan each year which makes the company one of the top in production volume among 1,500 miso producers in Japan.

As a commercial gimmick, Marukome has organized contests for kids to become "Marukome Boy" who subsequently represents the company in advertisement. To be a winner, the Marukome Boy should look similar to the company logo of a small boy with a bald head.

On December 5, 2007, Marukome opened its United States headquarters and factory in Irvine, California.[1]

The new 3-acre (12,000 m2) facility, Marukome’s first production facility outside Japan, has a production capacity of 1000 tons per year. In anticipation of an increase in consumer demand, the building is designed to accommodate a maximum production of 3000 tons annually.

All four of Marukome’s factories are extremely high tech, with heavy automation and robotics, leading-edge fermentation rooms and tanks, biotechnology, and in-factory water purification plants.

Slogan[edit]

Marukome’s corporate slogan, “Miso lives together with our health,” captures the essence of Japanese dietary culture and the universal taste preferred by consumers all over the world.
