Matt Suderman (January 27, 1983 – March 19, 2016) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who finished his career playing with the Brampton Beast in the Central Hockey League (CHL). Suderman was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 7th round (199th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.[1]
Suderman played 199 games with the Saskatoon Blades from 1999–2003.[1]
During the 2007–08 season, Suderman was a member of the Arizona Sundogs who won the Ray Miron President's Cup as champions of the Central Hockey League (CHL).[2]
During the 2009–10 season, he played in France for Morzine-Avoriaz.[1]
During the 2010–11 season Suderman played in the EIHL with the Dundee Stars where he served as an assistant captain. [3] Suderman later signed to be captain of the Hull Stingrays in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).[4]
He also played with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.[1]
Suderman died on March 19, 2016, at the age of 33.[5] No cause of death was formally announced.
