Matthew A. Gallagher (born 1985) is an American CEO and philanthropist. Gallagher has founded several companies but first became known for Watch Gang (2016), a company which curates wristwatches for over one million members. He built the company out of his garage after the passing of his father.[1]

In 2018, Gallagher was featured in Forbes to discuss his company.[2] Among other media, he's appeared on KTLA, GQ, Inc., and Entrepreneur.[3]

Gallagher was interviewed in February 2019 by Cheddar in Los Angeles about expanding his company to compete with Swatch Group.[4]

Background[edit]

Gallagher was born in Hollywood, Florida, to Lisa Radicchi and Dennis Gallagher. While his parents struggled with drug addiction and homelessness, Gallagher sold rocks and origami to friends and neighbors, thus inspiring him to become an entrepreneur. This background inevitably turned him toward philanthropy.[5]

Philanthropy[edit]

Gallagher has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for notable charities including Wounded Warrior, Gary Sinese Foundation, Autism Speaks and others. His philanthropic motivation began in August 2017 when Hurricane Harvey flooded neighborhoods in Houston, Texas. With the help of his members, he raised over $50,000 and personally flew to the disaster zone to help clean debris and rebuild homes.[6] Members of his community came together to help one of their own with donations matched by Gallagher after losing their home in a fire.[7]
