Matthew Sear
Matthew Sear (born 15 September 1975) is an English composer, guitarist and educator. His compositions include works for small ensembles, choral works, chamber music and solo pieces. His music draws on a variety of styles and genres.

As of 2020, he is a teacher of piano and classical guitar at Bird College Conservatoire and The James Allan School For Performing Arts and a performing artist for Music In Hospitals and Care.
Sear studied the guitar as an undergraduate at The Guildhall School Of Music and Drama and subsequently privately, under guitarist and composer Dr Martin Vishnick. He studied as post graduate at the University Of Surrey under Dr Stephen Goss and subsequently privately, under Royal College of Music senior professor Carlos Bonell, whom he is referenced by as a former 'notable student'. Sear holds a masters degree in music, a Licentiates with The Royal Schools Of Music and a Fellowship, with The London College Of Music.

Sear's music has been performed across the U.K and overseas and his music has featured in the magazines Classical Guitar and Fanfare Magazine. He has written for several notable artists including the guitarists; Jonathan Pragg and Martina Barlotta, the pianist Janneke Brits and Flautist Carla Rees.
