Maxime Coutté
Maxime Coutté is a French Computer scientist and electronic hardware designer. He built a virtual reality headset at age 16 because he was unable to afford an Oculus Rift.[1] Coutté began programming at 13 and taught himself mathematics and electronic hardware using online ressources. Later he successfully created a virtual reality headset for around $100. He then reached out to Oussama Ammar, co-founder of the European startup accelerator The Family, with whom he went to Silicon Valley.[2]
Oussama Ammar and Oculus VR' chief architect Atman Binstock then convinced Coutté to Open-source his virtual reality headset.[3][4]
