Max Erik Andreas Lundgren, also known as Max Ahmed Lundgren and better known by the name MaximilianMus, is a Swedish YouTuber and professional troll.
Growing up in Sweden, Lundgren created his channel on August 24th, 2011 and began uploading 2 years later.[2] While initially following a casual streak of unscheduled uploads, Lundgren started producing content based on trending video games in 2014. His content that consisted of informational videos transitioned into trolling. This transition followed throughout Lundgren's career, and gained him his peak of notability while making content for the online game Fortnite Battle Royale in 2018 and 2019.[3] This was due in part to his creation of the "Oh Yeah Yeah" meme, which quickly spread throughout YouTube comment sections and gained a total of 15 million views.[4]
Career[edit]
Initial success[edit]
Lundgren experienced a short-lived success after demonstrating various easter eggs throughout the game series Five Nights at Freddy's in 2014; although these videos garnered over 10 million views in total, their content's attractiveness dwindled with the game's decline itself in 2015.[5]
Following this, Lundgren took advantage of the developing trend that was Overwatch (2016). In his subsequent videos, Lundgren first began explicitly trolling in teams and matches, creating a series centered around it.[6] Lundgren's series garnered the attention of Videogamedunkey, whose channel he was featured on as a result.[7][8] The progression of this series slowed to a halt beginning in 2017, as Blizzard relentlessly banned him from Overwatch on a variety accounts similarly to the situation between Riot Games and Tyler1.
Continued popularity and notoriety throughout YouTube[edit]
With the release of Fortnite Battle Royale, Lundgren again transitioned content to the game and retaining the aspect of trolling. He immediately gained millions of views and a dedicated fanbase, to the point where he was considered an influential force in the game's community by Softonic.[9] This popularity spike was responsible for Lundgren's accumulation of subscribers, amounting to over 1.3 million by his departure from Fortnite.
Lundgren was able to accomplish several stunts in the YouTube community by employing the use of his subscribers. He used what he described as "one of the best fanbases"[10] to attract the attention of larger names, including PewDiePie, KSI[11], DanTDM, and Tfue's brother JoogSquad.[12][13] This was a demonstration of the dedication of Lundgren's community as a whole.
Most recently, Lundgren has switched to trolling content centering around the game Valorant.
Controversy[edit]
In 2019, Lundgren was accused of impersonating certain streamers in an attempt to justify Twitch raids.[14][15]
