Mayor Munusamy Playground is a playground cum park, in Perambur, in the district of Chennai, in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu and is visited by approximately 300 people daily.

Location

This playground cum park is located on Rangasayee Street, Perambur, Chennai,[2] in Tamil Nadu, in India. It was renovated with a fund of ₹62 lakhs and re-established in 2021. It was then reopened by M. K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Its geographical coordinates are: 13°06'33.3"N 80°14'05.3"E (13.109245°N 80.234815°E) and is situated at an elevation of about 34 m from the mean sea level.

Facilities

Artificial grass-floored football court, paved platform for walking, equipped open gym for teens, play area for children, LED lights and so on.

Beneficial neighbourhoods

Perambur, Agaram, Periyar Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Sembium, Peravallur, Thiru Vi. Ka. Nagar, Kolathur, Chennai and General Kumaramangalam Colony people benefit much more from this playground cum park. There is one more park in this area on Paper Mills road, viz., Perambur Flyover Park, which is visited by a lot of residents in and around Perambur area, because of its easy accessibility from everywhere.

Road transport

By road, bus facilities are available and to get down at 'Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine' bus stop or 'Sembium market' bus stop, or 'Venus Park' bus stop.

Railway transport

This playground is located between Perambur Carriage Works railway station and Perambur Loco Works railway station and is within walking distance of each station.
