Keletso Malatji (born 17 January 1997), professionally known as MckeezyK, is a South African record producer and rapper from Groblersdal, Limpopo. His professional work includes studio work, touring and live performances. [2] Currently, he is signed to his own independent record label Royal Giant Entertainment and DJ Maphorisa's New Money Gang Records.[3] MckeezyK's utilitarian trap sound has been well known for his heavy use of hard hitting 808's and catchy melodies. The young producer has worked with a lot of major hip-hop artists such as: Blaklez, Khuli Chana, Uhuru, Dj Buckz, among others.

Early life[edit]

MckeezyK was born in Groblersdal, Limpopo, in 1997. His family eventually settled in Marble Hall, in the Sekhukhune District of Limpopo. He attended high school at Esther Maleka Comprehensive High School.

Music career[edit]

Career beginnings[edit]

MckeezyK started off as only a rapper, he later decided to start making beats when he was in grade 8. His passion for music led him into the world of hip-hop at the age of 14. He was heavily influenced by raw hip hop of the 90's.[citation needed] In his quest to reach the top, MckeezyK started his campaign in 2011 where he began making beats on PlayStation 2 video games Magix Music Maker & eJay. Since then, MckeezyK has founded Royal Giant Ent, a collection of rappers and producers. He has made a lasting impression in the Sekhukhune District. He has performed at some of Sekhukhune District's premier events and opened for many national and regional artists.[4] He relocated to Pretoria after graduating high school and quickly established himself as a very capable and well-rounded studio musician. He rose to prominence after producing Blaklez's single "Leather Face" in 2016.[5]
