Mediafon is a telecommunications company, based in Lithuania. The Company's activities conclude the provision of wholesale voice transit services, fixed and mobile telephone services, maintenance and technical support for SMS value added services, telecommunication fraud prevention, specialized number portability, numbering plan management and equipment identification register solutions.

Overview[edit]

Established in 1998. In 2001 the Company expanded its business in the SMS market and started offering maintenance and technical support for SMS value added services.

Since 2003 the company has been providing wholesale telecommunication services and currently Mediafon is the second-largest carrier in the Lithuanian transit market. Mediafon provides wholesale traffic transit services in 5 continents (Europe, Asia, Africa, Northern America and Southern America) and 38 countries.

In 2007 Mediafon became part of MG Baltic group that is one of the largest corporations in the Baltic States.

Since 2010 Mediafon has been providing specialized set of number portability services. Mediafon has branches in Azerbaijan, Moldova,[1][2] El. Salvador[3][4][5] and Senegal.[6]

Mediafon began offering fraud prevention services in 2013.

On 14 August 2013 Mediafon won a Bronze Stevie Award in 2013 in the Company of the year category.[7]
