Melvano is a free Indian artificial intelligence-based learning Mobile App[1][2] developed to help students in preparing for entrance exams like JEE Main, JEE Advanced and NEET.[3][2] It is developed by Taran Sing[4] in Nirmaan Labs, IIT Madras which is the pre-incubation centre of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M).[5] It has a student-centered approach. Taran tutored aspiring engineering students while studying at IIT Madras, where he started taking interest in teaching and started designing an app.[4] As a student himself, Taran got support from IIT Madras’ Nirmaan (a pre-incubation cell) programme.[5] Taran and his team managed to raise 20 lakhs for investments from investors who were working at Facebook and from other entrepreneurs. He is planning to raise 500,000$ from the investors.[3]

It has more than 40,000+ practice questions on the platform serving 50 thousand current users with daily engagement time of 25 minutes.[7] It aims to cross 1 million students by the end of 2020[2] On average, there are more than 200 discussions that take place every day on the platform.[7]
