Menemen-İzmir buses are three different bus lines following the same main route owned by three different operators and operating according to three different statutes[citation needed]. They all operate in Menemen-İzmir route.
Menemen - Yeni Garaj private buses and minibuses[edit]
They depart from Menemen bus station, go through D.550, D.300, O-5 and O-30. They are not allowed to have standing passengers. Capacity varies from 12 to 14 on minibuses and is determined to be 18 on buses(legally considered buses, but manufactured as a 18-seater minibus). İzmir municipality tried to abolish these,[1][2] however, this has been overturned by Danıştay. White-bodied 18-seater minibuses were originally operated under intercity transport statute, however, it is converted to a suburban bus with a route permit after metropolitan municipality began serving whole province. Turquoise-bodied 14-seater minibuses are private minibuses overseen by İzmir municipality and İzmir minibus chamber.
ESHOT Menemen buses[edit]
They depart from Menemen railway station, go around Menemen town center and follow the same route as private buses, however, they use D.300 collector road all the way to Naldöken instead of a short stretch from Özkanlar to Adalet, and their İZOTAŞ terminus is outside bus station. They are allowed to have standing passengers and rigid low-floor buses which are able to carry 100 passengers are used in this route. This route is longest city bus route in the metropolitan area of İzmir. It has been established by İzmir municipality after municipality refusing to renew private buses' route permits and violence resulting of prosecutor of İzmir telling municipality that Menemen minibuses have no alternatives.
