MeraEvents[1] is an Indian online event ticketing technology company. Established in 2009,[2] The company has operations in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, and New Delhi. The e-commerce company provides consumer-to-consumer, business-to-consumer, and business-to-business services via web portals. It also provides electronic payment services, an event search engine and other event technology services.[3]

Products[edit]

MeraEvents focuses on major event technology based service areas-event listing, event ticketing/registration, promotion, payment processing (online, offline), event marketing and logistics. Users can create free accounts and create events at no charge but are charged when they buy a ticket. The sites’ mobile apps Marketplace (in Beta stage) aims to extend apps and tools for pre-event, event-day and post events' sales.[4]

History[edit]

MeraEvents was founded by Chennapanaidu Darapaneni, an alumnus of JNTU Anantapur. Having done his B.Tech from JNTU Anantapur Darapaneni sold his first business, Versant Technologies, to Aspire Systems[5] before Versant Online Solutions was launched. He was later joined by Sreekanth Rao Ponnala and Hirish Reddy Jakkidi as co-founders.

In June 2014, the company received 1 Million USD funding from the OMICS International.[6] In February 2015 the company signed a contract for a limited period with Percept Live to manage its online and offline ticketing for events like the Sunburn Festival, Flu and Bollyboom.[7] MeraEvents has also served as the ticketing technology partner for several events by Viacom 18, including Skrillex's India tour, Comedy Central Chuckle Festival with Russell Brand.[8]
