Meri Tadić (born 15 August 1982) is a Swiss-Croatian violinist, singer and songwriter. She is mostly known as the former fiddle-player of folk metal band Eluveitie from 2002 to 2013.

Biography[edit]

At the age of 13 Tadić started playing violin and fiddle[1] by taking classical lessons and jazz lessons.

In 2002 she met Chrigel Glanzmann in a pub who was still looking for members for his folk metal project Eluveitie[1]. Soon afterwards, she got engaged as a fiddler and vocalist for the band. She was also involved with songwriting. (Reference)

In 2009 she released the first EP of her solo project Irij which she brought into being 2 years prior.[1] One year later she founded the folk rock project godnr.universe! together with former band member Anna Murphy[2].

After 11 years, on December 3rd 2013, she amicably left Eluveitie to focus on her solo career with Irij.[3] In 2014 the debut album Same Zgode... followed. The album is inspired by a Croatian poem of the same title[4] and Tadić can be heard singing in her native language Croatian.
