Metrobus route 460 is a regional bus route in Surrey and West Sussex, England. The route runs from Epsom to Crawley via Redhill and Gatwick Airport.[1][2]
History
In April 2001 the route transferred from Arriva to Metrobus, running from Redhill to Epsom.[3]
In late 2001, due to vandalism, the route was diverted away from Preston Lane and Merland Rise after 19:00.[3]
On 10th January 2004 the evening and Sunday service was withdrawn.[3]
On 28th August 2010 the service was revised to operate hourly between Redhill and Epsom via Walton-on-the-Hill, Monday to Saturday. A Sunday service was also introduced running every two hours.[3]
On 25th May 2013 the Monday to Saturday service was extended to Crawley Bus Station via East Surrey Hospital and Gatwick Airport. In May 2014 the Sunday service was also extended to Crawley.[3]
On 3rd February 2018 some weekday services were diverted to serve the Pfizer offices at Walton Oaks.[3]
In 2025 the routes started to be operated by new double deck Wrightbus hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.[4][5] Surrey County Council invested £16m in partnership with Metrobus to secure 34 hydrogen buses. These buses also operate on routes 100, 430, 435 (single decker), 460 & 480 (double decker)[6]
