Mica Gallery
MICA (Modern Islamic and Contemporary Art) Gallery is an art gallery located near the Cadogan Gardens intersection on Pavilion Road, Knightsbridge, London. The gallery, founded by Reedah El-Saie in 2007, is a 1500 square foot gallery specializing in Modern Islamic and Contemporary art.[1]
El-Saie, a British-Pakistani barrister married to an Egyptian in London, has used the gallery to promote the work of young British-Pakistani artists such as Nurjan, Khaver Idrees, Maaida Noor and Shafaq Ahmed.[2] In July 2011 the gallery also hosted an exhibition of recent Egyptian art, From Facebook to Nassbook.[3] The exhibition was dedicated to the memory of the Egyptian artist Ahmed Bassiony, who died in sniper fire in the 2011 Egyptian revolution.[4]
