Michelle Romero is an American politician and the 14th Mayor of Henderson, Nevada. Before being elected mayor, she served as a Henderson city councilwoman from April 2019 until January 2023. She was elected in 2022 in a landslide victory, being endorsed by incumbent mayor Debra March and Clark County Commissioner James B. Gibson, who was previously Mayor. Despite them both being Democrats, Romero herself is a registered Republican.
Early Life and Education[edit]
Romero claims to have been born and raised in Henderson.[2] She went to Upper Iowa University and got a Bachelor of Public Administration.
Political career[edit]
Romero was elected in April 2019 to the Henderson City Council after working many years for the Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. She retired after less than one term to run for Mayor of Henderson. She would win in a landslide, with no other candidate receiving even 20% of the vote.
