Micro-Documentaries
Micro-Documentaries is a San Francisco-based film production company that produces short-length, digital films on various social topics. Founded in 2009 by Natasha Giraudie and Ben Henretig, Micro-Documentaries have released dozens of short films, all aimed at showcasing socially impactful individuals and organizations such as the Clinton Global Initiative, HOPE Credit Union and Cisco Systems.
Let's Get Street Smart[edit]
In 2016, Giraudie released a series of nine micro-documentaries revolving around San Francisco area companies and individuals who are finding ways to combat homelessness in the bay area. These include the Homeless Prenatal Project, Lava Mae: a mobile sanitation company that travels in and around San Francisco providing toilets and showers to people facing homelessness. Inspired by the subjects she filmed, Giraudie sought to redefine the term "street smart" to reflect an education about homelessness and the external pressures (death of a loved one, abuse at home, illness or poverty) that cause it.
