Engr. Minhon Khan Chandio alias M.M. Chandio, born 14 December 1942 in Khairpur Nathan shah, District Dadu, is a [1] renowned mechanical engineer of Pakistan and one of the notables of Chandio tribe.

Testimonial given by the President of Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf on inauguration of Panjgur Power Project completed ahead of time. He writes: "I am proud to be inaugurating Panjgur Power Station. I commend the efforts of WAPDA staff who under the leadership of Mr. Chandio completed the task in record time most economically".

He oversaw, headed and completed major electricity generation power projects and others in record times notably Jamshoro Power Company Limited (JPCL),[2] WAPDA, Six Vocational and Training Institutes across Sindh and Panjgur Power Project alongside many others. He was also one of the few engineers to have achieved maximum generation at the aforementioned projects. He was rewarded with the first ever Medal of Honor by WAPDA for his outstanding services and nominated for Sitara-e- Imtiaz by 10th President of Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf for completing Panjgur Power Station project 1.5 years ahead of scheduled time. Moreover, he opened Six Vocational Technical Training Institution in record times which were inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhtarma Benazir Bhutto.

Apart from the professional achievements, Mr. Chandio is also known for his social services. He recruited over 4000 people across Sindh and Balochistan for government jobs, provided scholarships to numerous students for studies abroad and was awarded All Awami Balochistan Gold Medal for social services rendered.

Education[edit]

Mr. Chandio completed his Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical) from Sindh University Engineering College(Now Known as Mehran University of Engineering and Technology) in 1967 in its first batch of engineering. He completed his secondary education from S.M Science college known as Sindh Madressatul Islam in its first science batch in 1962. In addition to this he undertook various foreign Senior Management courses.

These include: Brush Electrical, Lough borough, England, UK; SSS Clutch, Leicester shire, England, UK; ASEA, Sweden; THOMASSEN B.V, Netherlands.

Mr. Chandio has a Poetry Book namely "Chal Pal jo Chutko" published by him which is the compilation of Poetry of Shah Pasand Chandio. Also, he has authored Turbine Operating Manual for WAPDA.
