Mini and Me

Mini and Me is a women's, baby, and home boutique. Founded in 2010, the store originated under the name Baby Vie in San Diego, CA. As of 2020, Mini and Me operates completely online. It’s dedicated to helping the fight against childhood cancer and donates a portion of their profits to childhood cancer non-profits.[1].
History
Susan Kramer-Swafford founded Mini and Me under the name of Baby Vie in 2010. The storefront was located in the Scripps Ranch, San Diego neighborhood of San Diego, CA. Upon opening, Mini and Me was dedicated to donating a portion of their profits to childhood cancer non-profits and helping the families impacted. They have held a number of fundraisers and toy drives for childhood cancer patients, their families, and the organizations that support them. In December of 2010, the store hosted an Alex's Lemonade Stand in honor of a local family[2]. Shortly later in 2011, one of Susan's eight children was diagnosed with medulloblastoma [3], making the fight against childhood cancer more personal.
In July of 2013, the store's name changed to Mini and Me [4]. It has been operating under this name ever since. Mini and Me eventually changed locations to Julian, California and later to Wake Forest, NC. These locations are no longer open, as Mini and Me operates completely online [1].
Events
Fashion Shows
Mini and Me has hosted a number of fashion show fundraisers. One of which was the Shine Fashion Show 2013. This show doubled as a toy drive for Rady Children's Hospital and featured a few patients as models[5]. During the following year, Mini and Me held the Shine Fashion Show 2014 during the Babypalooza portion of the Aj's Kid Crane event, an annual toy drive for Rady Childrens Hospital [6][7][8]. Their most recent fashion show was a fundraiser entitled The Avery Strong Benefit Show and was held at their Wake Forest location. This fashion show raised money for a local cancer patient and her family[9].
Fundraisers and Toy Drives
In 2012, Mini and Me hosted a toy drive for Rady Children's Hospital and a fundraiser to help support the families of patients there [10]. And then in 2013, Mini and Me's storefront in Scripps Ranch was the site of a collection bin for Gently Hugged, a non-profit group that helps low-income families by providing gently-used baby clothing[11]. For Valentine's Day in 2014, Mini and Me held a fundraiser event called "Love Letter" for the families and children spending their Valentine's Day at Rady Childrens Hospital. In addition to gifts and money donations, they asked participants to write notes and create art to help the families feel encouraged, loved, and supported[12].
Awards
In 2011, Mini and Me received a Best of San Diego award in the category Best Baby Gift's Shop[13]
