Molfar is a competitive intelligence agency that started working on the open market in 2020.[2][3] Molfar also known as a global OSINT community, which are actively providing fact-checking in different events of war since February 24 ( On 24 February 2022, Russia launched a military invasion of Ukraine ).[4]
Molfar provides services in the field of competitive intelligence, training of OSINT-specialists,[5] industry analytics,[6][7] analysis of vulnerabilities of information systems,[8] personal data protection, search for information in open sources and closed registers, preparation of reports on companies and people.[2][3]
History[edit]
In 2014, three future employees of the company formed a competitive intelligence department within the Noosphere Ventures investment fund. In 2019, as a result of Management Buyout, Artem Starosiek created the company Molfar.[9]
In June 2020, Molfar was included in the list of startups of the Kyiv Landscape 2020 ecosystem, created by the global consulting platform TNW X. The ecosystem is presented in cooperation with TechUkraine and Center42 as part of the Tech Cities of the Future project.[10]
In January 2021, AIN magazine published an investigation by Molfar, according to which the real name of the Russian web artist Duran is Bair Radnayevh.[11][12]
In September 2021, the Transformation Office and Molfar prepared a joint investigation into the corrupt activities of the First Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Mykola Povoroznyk.[13][14]
Molfar during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine[edit]
On February 24, the Molfar team joined the cyber-resistance of full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.[15]
Since the beginning of the invasion, Molfar has been providing military analytics to the Ukrainian media and spreading information on military events in Ukraine to representatives of international coalitions, EU ambassadors to Ukraine and international organizations investigating war events.[16]
The British newspaper The Times helped the company to highlight the military events that occurred in Mariupol during fights for the city between Ukrainian and Russian military.[17]
Also, together with the Ukrainian media and independent organizations, Molfar identifies military personnel to transfer the data to the International Prosecutor's Office to investigate war events.[18]
